I‘m a retired engineer/researcher with 10 patents collecting dust in the corner. I now while away the hours watching rain patter against the windows, contemplating the insidious power of pizza, and scribbling random pieces of geek and science fiction.
Over the years I’ve read all genres of science fiction, across all eras … from Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, to Alastair Reynolds’ latest novel, to Stephen Hawking’s books/essays. I’ve played countless computer/video games in that same time, from pong to the original Doom, to the recently released Cyberpunk 2077. I’ve watched nearly every science fiction story ever put to film, from Metropolis, to Dune (2021) … to everything in between. I love the genre dearly, and I have since I was about ten years old.
Most of the images used here are generated using artificial intelligence, using prompts from Infinispace stories/vignettes … or pulled from my imagination. Creating atmospheric and interesting images, that possess just the right style, from an A.I. is a bit like herding cats, requiring patience and the right coaxing. It’s creating images from words. Please don’t contact me asking how to use or access these A.I. tools, there are lots of resources out there covering those topics!!
I reside in the Pacific Northwest … land of moss, rain, and long winter nights.
