Infinispace – Alone On the Road // Bastien Grivet

As I completed the last leg of my journey on foot the wind caressed the massive support cables of Bridge 10 that led to City 1, producing a low frequency hum.  The only other sound being the crackle of flames licking across the bodywork of my beloved VMX, having finally given up the ghost on our mad dash back to City 1.  But it was too late.  The city was deathly silent, the roads clear, the sky empty, the harbor pristine.  The walk across the impossibly long bridge and through the echoing City 1 access tunnel took me nearly an hour.  Once within the chasms of the skyscrapers my search yielded no clues as to what had transpired since I received the vague and desperate call from Selia pleading me to return from my weekend outing in the countryside with the VMX.

Note: “Infinispace” is a series that melds concept and word. It’s an idea that’s fundamental to the Infinispace concept . . . “Infinite worlds, infinite possibilities.” The idea is to present credited art and wrap my spur of the moment interpretive narrative around the piece . . . whatever first pops in to my head, stream of consciousness style. When available a link to the artist’s website will be included, but artists will always be given full credit.
