The Art of Frank Frazetta

Frank Frazetta was born in New York City and attended the Brooklyn Academy of Fine Arts at the age of eight.  By 15 years old he was already working in the comic industry as an inker.

Throughout the decades he worked in comics, books, the film industry, as well as doing freelance work.  He is best known for his Conan the Barbarian inspired paintings, with one original eventually selling for $1 million in 2009.  The painting was Conan the Conqueror and is the first image in the gallery below.

 Frank Frazetta passed away in 2010.  He was 82.
