Amazon to Join the Zombie Bandwagon

You knew it was inevitable. With the success of AMC’s The Walking Dead television show news is coming down the wires that a version of the hit movie Zombieland will be gracing our televisions. Well, maybe not our television, but our computer screens.

Zombieland is being developed by Amazon Studios as an original series for their instant streaming service. If true this will put Amazon in direct competition with Netflix in the original streaming content arena. Presumably the show will focus on a set of characters (from the movie?) who will have to struggle with surviving in a post apocalyptic world. Sound familiar. Will it offer anything new and compelling other than clever quips and zombie rules?
