Locus Online’s 2012 All-Centuries Poll Results

In November of 2012 Locus Online hosted a poll that posed the question What are the best SF and Fantasy novels of the 20th and 21st century?  625 ballots were received.  Voters were allowed to make ten votes (effectively their Top 10) then the staff at Locus Online applied a weighting system to arrive at the age old question.

The 21st century data is not as compelling as the 20th century data as the options for voting are about 1/8th what it would be for and entire century of works.  But that’s a moot point because this is all opinion for sake of fun.  I’ve listed the top 10 for novels only.  The full data set includes novellas, novelettes, and short stories

I don’t disagree terribly with the top 10 shown below, except perhaps for Ender’s Game.  It’s perpetually high on everyone’s list but placing it between Dune and Foundation is a bit puzzling.  I read Ender’s Game a long time ago, perhaps I should give it another read.

The lists in all their entirety can be found on Locus Online.

Enjoy.
